100 MILE ROUTE

This route takes off North. Along the way, you’ll encounter rolling hills, vineyards and almond orchards in full blossom. Your first stop will be at Hilltop Ranch were you can enjoy a breakfast of muffins, bagels and fresh fruit. The next rest stop will be at Turlock Lake where you will be treated to more snacks and fruit. As you head east, grasslands covered with wildflowers and groves of blue oaks and willows share the banks of the Tuolumne River. Once you pass the old mining town of LaGrange, you start your first serious climb. As you cross Don Pedro Dam, you gaze down on the magnificent Tuolumne River Gorge. After Don Pedro your route will head south and more green fields covered with wildflowers. The ruins of the 1870 lumber mill awaits you in Merced Falls, which was once the tent city of thousands of gold miners. Your route will take you to the historic town of Snelling for your final rest stop. Total elevation gain is 3500 feet.

100 KM ROUTE

Riders will follow the same route and use the first two rest stops of the 100 mile route. Your stop at Turlock Lake will energize you for the rolling hills that await. At mile 38, you leave the 100 mile route and take Los Cerritos Road and a short-cut to Snelling. At Snelling you can choose between two distances for your trip home. The first more direct route gets you just over 100k of riding. The second adds 10 miles and 200 feet of elevation if you have the added energy. Total elevation gain for the 100k is 1200 feet.
